Some guy on Twitter gave me this idea - he made a list of the top ten pastors in America who's twitter thoughts you should follow. That got me thinking on the influential Christian leaders of my own country: If I would have to propose blogsites and Tweeters to someone asking me, who would I suggest?
Let's see ...
* Braam Hanekom
* Andries Louw
* Dries Cronje
* Reggie Nel
* Tom Smith
* Cobus van Wyngaard
* Roger Saner
* Dries Lombaard
* Jan van der Watt
* Stephan Joubert
* Hennie Stander
* Theo Geyser
* Francois Mulder
* Frederick Marais

For some of these, I wasn't even aware that they blogged... maybe adding the links will be a good thing. I'll add:
Steve Hays - I believe one of the most up to date bloggers. Steve follows about everyone, 4make the Orthodox tradition part of the conversation, and regularly comments on other blogs.
Nic Paton - big influence on EmergingAfrica, and his thoughts get reposted onto EmergentVillage from time to time as well, which increase his influence also outside of the South African conversation.
Eish, I feel honoured to be on your list Guillaume! Not sure how influential I am (yet) :) Cobus, I couldn't agree with you more about Steve and Nic. I would also like to add a few others. The first two are originally from other countries but probably regard themselves as South Africans these days (I think):
Cori Wielenga (ex-Dutch), Floyd McClung (ex-US), David Broodryk, Mynhardt van Pletsen, Warren le Grange, Flaps van der Merwe, Graeme Codrington (recently moved to the UK), Pierre du Plessis... and so the list goes on.
Andries
I don't think Cori deserve the ex-Dutch label. She's been here all her life, she just happen to have Dutch citizenship since her parents immigrated from the Netherlands.
Your list is growing well beyond 10 now.
Shame, my twitter feed is nothing but tech thoughts on the web, and some occasionally funny comments...maybe I should have some better, more profound stuff?
I tried to check you out on Twitter but it said that your page doesn't exist.
